Concert: An Afternoon of Music and Exploration with Joni NehRita

Join singer/songwriter and multi-disciplinary artist, Joni NehRita for an afternoon of music and exploration. The Jamaican-Canadian artist’s music invites listeners to think, feel and move with her socially charged Afro-Latin & Caribbean soul. NehRita is also a music educator & facilitator who has taught workshops in improvisation, performance & vocal technique at Wilfrid Laurier University, Seneca College, Folk Alliance International, The Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival as well as at countless other schools & community events.

NatureTO: Trees Around the Branch Tour

Forest Hill  is home to a variety of trees. Join City of Toronto Urban Forestry staff to explore the natural world on a local neighbourhood walk. Learn how to recognize different species and fun facts about their cultural and ecological importance. 

 

Registration required.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver. 

 

Please note, the tour will start and end at the Forest Hill Branch. The City of Toronto Urban Forestry staff outside and around the neighbourhood where there may be uneven, unpaved surfaces will guide attendees. Please dress and prepare accordingly for this outdoor program (e.g. hats, sunscreen, water, comfortable shoes). This program takes place rain or shine.

The Drama Club will teach performance strategies through theatre games, improv, and practicing voice and movement. Participants are welcome to take part in a community performance on May 25th. No classes on March 30th (Easter Weekend) and May 18th (Victoria Day Long Weekend). 

10am -11am (for children ages 6-8) 

11am-12pm  (for children ages 9-12)
