In this lecture, staff members will show participants how to get access and use the 3D printer at the Digital Innovation Hub. Topics includes:

  • Basics of 3D Printing
  • How to prepare a 3D design file for print
  • How to access and use 3D printer at the Digital Innovation Hub at Toronto Public Library
  • Best practice for 3D printing and where to find designs.
  • Review of the rules and guidelines to using the 3D printer at the Toronto Public Library

CapCut is a popular video editing tool. If your looking for tools to boost your social media channel, promote a small business, then CapCut is a great program for you.

Loaded with free templates and tools to make the process of creating and editing videos easier than ever. In the class we'll explore some of the common tools and best practices of the program and give ample time to edit a fun little video using some of the many clips, templates and other resources.

Learn all about Adobe Lightroom Classic, an industry standard tool used by photographers to organize, retouch, and share their work. We will focus on learning the workflow of the software, covering topics such as importing photos, RAW vs JPEG files, file organization, retouching and correcting our images, and exporting and sharing our finished work.

Note: you will need to have your own working copy of Adobe Lightroom Classic for this class. The instructor will be using the Creative Cloud 2024 version. It is okay if you have a different version but there may be some small differences.

This online workshop will take place online using the Webex video conferencing application.

Build on your basic Microsoft Word 2019 skills and learn to use Word more effectively.

In this class you will:  

- Practice new Word skills while you design a flyer
- Format text, margins, indents, headers and footers
- Format text as columns
- Create bulleted, numbered and sorted lists
- Review your document with Spelling and Grammar check and Thesaurus


Upon completion of this class students will be able to use even more Word tools to design their documents.

Pre-requisite:  Word Basics 1 or equivalent skills. Basic keyboarding and mouse skills required.
Format: Hands-on with demonstrations

Learn the basics of 3D design using a browser-based program called Tinkercad. You'll learn how to navigate in the 3D environment and create a keychain!

This is an in person event designed for ages 10 and up, basic mouse and keyboarding skills are required.

Python is an open source programming language that is used for creating web applications, web content, mathematics and system scripting. 

In this course you will learn how python code works and given fundamental knowledge of Python. Key takeaways will include a working knowledge of variables, data type, operators, output functions and data input function.

Prior coding knowledge is not necessary for this introductory class. 

This class is for beginners but assumes you have a basic understanding of computer skills. If you can use a word processor or surf the web, you can learn Python!

  3. Overview of different 3D applications and software

Followed by the introduction to printing, class participants will be given a hands-on workshop where they learn how to create simple 3D designed key chain and become familiar with design tools using Autodesk Tinkercad.
