Hearing and Memory Loss: Connections, Effects on Communication and What You Can Do About It!

Both hearing and cognitive loss increase with age. Research shows strong evidence of association between hearing loss and cognitive impairment. Older adults with untreated hearing loss are more likely to develop dementia. Hearing aid use may mediate cognitive decline through reduced social isolation and depression or increased cognitive stimulation.  Presented by: Akram Keymanesh, Doctor of Audiology.
