Discuss diverse and inclusive titles from a variety of genres on the fourth Thursday of every month!

This month we will be discussing Running Down the Dream by Candy Palmater.

A powerful, often funny, always inspiring memoir from a beloved comedian, professional orator, actor, entertainer, gone all too soon. Candy Palmater was a queer Mi’kmaw lawyer-turned comic. Raised by bikers in rural New Brunswick, Candy loved to connect with people. She lived for the stage and her effervescent presence ignited and inspired audiences. Candy always believed that it is never too late to pursue our dreams and that we should never allow others to negatively influence our life's desires.

Share the love of reading! Kids and parents will read a book together, then join us once a month at the library to chat about the book. Was it a great read? Or a total stinker? All opinions and thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Attention, culinary enthusiasts! Whether you're embarking on your culinary journey or already a seasoned cook, we invite you to be a part of the Cookbook Club. Every month, take a cookbook home, experiment with a recipe, and share your verdict—was it fantastic, fair, or a total disaster? No time to cook? No problem! Join us and share your love for cooking or your quest to discover it. Drop-in or register for a reminder at 416-396-8969 or speak to staff at the front desk. Please speak to Malvern Staff to obtain a copy of the book. Our club gathers monthly to celebrate the joys of food and cooking on May 27 and June 24.

Join a creative and safe environment for writers of all levels! Bring your written work to share with your peers when you’re ready, and to support your fellow writers! 

We will meet bi-weekly on Monday evenings in Room 200 from 6:30–8:00pm.
