Poetry Saved Our Lives is an eight-week spoken word series for teens to explore their creative voices and make friends. Develop your writing, poetry and stories with a supportive and experienced coach.

Coach Shelly Campbell is a Toronto-based spoken word poet and photographer. Shelly is a former National Spoken Word Champion and an art educator with VIBE Arts.

Henna Art Workshop for Teens

Discover the festive art of Henna. 

Led by artist Hina Yasir, you will learn about its history and fascinating traditions from different countries. 

From 4:30 to 5:30 PM, you will practice designs in a guided session. 

From 5:30 to 6:30 PM, drop in any time to have henna designs applied by Hina Yasir. 

This is a drop-in program for teens only in the Youth Hub. No registration required. All materials are provided while supplies last.

Toy Hacking Workshop

Join us to learn about the Makers Making Change program and to switch-adapt toys.  Participants will learn how to take apart a toy, identify buttons that control the toy, and solder in jacks that will allow someone to control the toy with an assistive switch.  All switch-adapted toys will be donated to children with disabilities across Ontario by Neil Squire’s Makers Making Change program to make play accessible to families with children with disabilities across Canada.  Volunteer hours can be provided to participants upon request.

Intro to 3D Design with TinkerCAD

Intro to 3D Design with TinkerCAD

TinkerCAD is a web browser based 3D application. Through the creation of simple everyday objects, students will learn the tools for object based 3D Design. In this class, we will explore the basics of TinkerCAD and you will get a chance to print out your very own keychain!

Coach Martin Gomes leads a series of workshops on poetry and spoken word. Develop your art and showcase your talents. Martin Gomes is an Afro/Latino, queer writer and composer. Martin works as an artist facilitator for organizations such as Unity Charity, Lakeshore Arts, JAYU, VIBEArts, tdsbCREATES, & Shakespeare in Action.

ChillZone Mondays

ChillZone Mondays

Every Monday, our program room is transformed into a ChillZone where you can play your favourite board game or try a new one. Possibilities include Monopoly, Jenga, Chess, Uno, Scrabble and more. We also have available our Nintendo Switch where you can play SuperSmash Bros., Mario Kart, and more. It’s a safe space where you can hang out with your friends or meet a new one.
