Join singer/songwriter and multi-disciplinary artist, Joni NehRita for an afternoon of music and exploration. The Jamaican-Canadian artist’s music invites listeners to think, feel and move with her socially charged Afro-Latin & Caribbean soul. NehRita is also a music educator & facilitator who has taught workshops in improvisation, performance & vocal technique at Wilfrid Laurier University, Seneca College, Folk Alliance International, The Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival as well as at countless other schools & community events.

When Moses Woke is a dramatic musical inspired by the collective experience of Harriet Tubman and many freedom seekers who traveled on the Underground Railroad.

The director, Seth-Adrian Harris, will introduce the film and be available to answer audience & moderator questions afterwards.
