Join author Eddie Lee as he reads from his newly published historical fiction "The Laundryman's Boy" (HarperCollins, April 2024). Themes relate to Asian heritage, Chinese-Canadian history, immigration, racism, duty, and friendship.

Enjoy the vibrant sounds and heritage of Korean music as we celebrate Asian Heritage Month. Korean musician Roa Lee presents a Gayageum Solo Performance and talks about this traditional Korean instrument, renowned as a stringed wooden zither.

The concert will feature the authenticity of Traditional Korean Music performed on the 12-stringed Gayageum offering a glimpse into centuries-old musical traditions. Enjoy the beauty of classical pieces to world fusion played with the 25-stringed Gayageum. 

Following the concert, dive deeper into the world of Korean music during a Q&A session. This is your chance to discover and connect with Korean music firsthand.

In celebrating Asian Heritage Month, join Carol Williams-Wong, as she discusses her personal history in Letters to My Grandchildren: Memoirs of a Dragon Lady

Born to Hakka Chinese immigrants in Jamaica, Carol Wong discusses her early life in the West Indies, and her journey in becoming a Hakka Chinese Dragon Lady in Toronto. While the letters serve to record her family history, they also highlight life in Jamaica from 1941-1977 and the changing socio-political events from that era. 

Q&A to follow Author Talk. Books will be available for sale and signing. Drop-In. No Registration Required.

Presented by artist Xiqin Li, join us for a demonstration and guided workshop of the ancient Chinese art form of paper cutting. Learn the history of the art of paper cutting, basic techniques and interpretations of certain designs.
